Mrs. Duke might not have earned her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is one of the most feared poker players around the cash matches at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi/low.
While players from the "younger crowd" of poker go crazy after a huge win at the tournament, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her four children. Annie grew up in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to participate in the game.
However, Mrs. Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has succeeded at her share of challenging tables, which includes knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both competitors that have the capability to win the huge bucks and do so with a smile.
Annie Duke is a strong competitor at any poker table due to the fact that she is a legitimate poker player, but it’s a little more than simply being good at the game. Annie Duke is surprisingly intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in English and Psychology.
When you sit across from her at the poker table you’ll see Annie is there to compete in the game and she begins "summing" you up from the time you approach the game table. If you can’t bet like a camp, then do not bother.
Earning over three million dollars in tournament play, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to sharpen his skills and grow into a power at the poker table.
You might just see her at the Bellagio, you’ll notice Annie on TV and you may even play against her in a web poker match, but do not expect a simple win. Unless you’re a camp-in-the-making, you will not beat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
