Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the dealer is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
