His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental feedback from others destroy his goal of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

He began playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
